A Samoan feast favorite β taro leaves wrapped around coconut cream, onion, and corned beef. Creamy, earthy, and deeply satisfying.
π§ Ingredients
- 14 taro leaves (or substitute Swiss chard)
- 12 oz canned corned beef
- 1 white onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 20 oz coconut cream
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Banana leaves or foil (for wrapping)
π¨βπ³ Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175Β°C (350Β°F).
- Mix corned beef, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Lay two taro leaves on foil. Add 2β3 tbsp of filling in the center.
- Drizzle coconut cream over filling and leaves. Fold leaves like a parcel.
- Wrap tightly in foil. Repeat until mixture is used up.
- Bake for 30β40 minutes until leaves are tender and filling is hot.
- Unwrap and serve warm. Optional: drizzle with extra coconut cream and lime juice.

- Use fresh taro leaves if available; remove stems and rinse well.
- Serve with rice or grilled fish for a full Polynesian meal.
